Most of the debts have moved on to debt collection from other company’s but i have tried and been able to make payments to the original creditors. I am just wondering if paying the original creditors rather than the debt collectors would better reflect on my credit.

I have a $7,000 debt sitting on my credit report since 2003. It says it will come off in 2010. What does that mean? It hasn’t been updated by the collector since 2003 and I haven’t received notices about paying it since then. What happens after 2010 if I don’t pay it? Does it come off my record for good so I don’t ever have to pay it? Please help!

also I’d like to know what they are required to say by law on their First Notice to you that is in writing.

Every time i try to validate the debt with the collection companies, they sell it to another company before the 30 days are up. How am I ever supposed to get this taken care of if they keep selling it off before it is validated? Help please.

I have a debt to telus and they fowarded it to a collection agency. I can’t pay the whole amount in full because it’s pretty big and im stil a student and the agency won’t accept payments(installments). The agecy said that if i don’t pay, it willgo to my record and stay there for 7 years. My question is, doesn’t having your debt frwarded to a collection agency automatically results to abad record? Because if it does, what’s the use of paying the debt? You ALREADY have a bad credit anyways.
