Does the credit card debt restart if a different agencies send letters about your debt even after 6 years?

XCALIBUR asked:

I mean i heard after 6 years or so your credit card debt is written off, but if during those 6 years you get letters from different solictors, agencies etc does this include the 6 years or is it restarted from the beggining when to a another agency?

  1. Ask M Says:

it drops off your report seven years AFTER the last payment

    buddhibbs.com

most likely past the Statute of Limitations to collect.

  2. MRPUNKASS Says:

    No.

If you are unsure, monitor your credit report to make sure that they collection agencies do no try to ‘reage’ the account.

If they sell the debt to another collector, it does not reage the account. They can try, but this is pretty much a guarateed win in small claims court.

Your debt will disappear off of your credit history after 7 years from your last activity (e.g. payment.)

As the previous person mentioned, everything you need to know is at creditinfocenter, and it’s free!

it will not drop off until after seven years!!!

  4. stan c Says:

As stated after 7 years it comes off but they can still call you until the end of time. If you make a payment however, the SOL starts all over again.
